XRAY - Model racing cars

Quincy, Rocco, Ralph Burch, Rich Starr, and plenty of others were running it at the South RC Pro Round 1 a couple weekends ago. Most of them were in the A, so it must be okay .

Anyway to me imo the bind on the inner arm is because it is at a bit of a bad angle and does not allow the outter turnbuckle to turn freely. This way both the outter and inner turnbuckle rotate freely by hand, and to me that would appear to make for less bind. You can still get the a arm to fall freely just fine with it stock and have no bind. This for me looks better, and makes me think it has less of a chance of binding if it somehow got twisted or hit during a race. Also less chance of breaking.

I will however admit that 90% of it is mental, and the way the car is stock is probably just fine

Lol, sorry Fro. You and JB would have been in there as well had you guys stayed. I did the mod primarily to not have to worry about the stock upper arm breaking on me. The stock form is just fine too when properly setup, this just allows a little more flex .

Its definitely worth trying. Losi recognized the advantages of this type of upper arm as well - their 1/8 buggy has a similar design.

Ok after reading all of the explanations and taking a look at my car, I'm convinced this is an excellent mod. As a matter of fact, I think XRAY should incorporate this as a new option. Any chance of that happening?

You just have to order two part numbers, 353150 & 353170.
Buy a 5/32" drill bit and some 5/32" collars.

Come on now. You're taking all the Hobby out of it, haha!

Adam, I have not tried this mod yet. My car has worked well without it but I'm sure I will have to give it a try sooner or later.

or 3531160 with the mounts at the balls?
