XRAY - Model racing cars

I wanted to bring this topic back up because of the new Telemetry Unit that is being offered by Spektrum. It will be a little box that will connect to your receiver and allow you to see engine temps, battery voltage, RPMs, and more valuable information about your vehicle in real time as long as you have a Spektrum equipped radio/receiver combo.

With the extra unit in the box plus all the extra wiring that will be necessary to come out of the box, I think a receiver box upgrade will be necessary. XRAY could stand out as the first company to make a receiver box designed to accomodate this. Little things like that make a big difference. I remember when personal transponder holders came out to fit them perfectly when they became popular and I was like... Wow, just what I've been looking for! What do you guys think?

Desdad, that electrical swith does look nice but yeah where do you mount it and it looks kinda heavy. How much does it weigh?

Slickrcpilot, I don't know but I was looking at the dimensions on the telemetry unit and you're going to need almost a square inch of space: ( 1.08 x .725 x .48 ) I don't think there's that much room left over in there. I actually don't have an XB8 yet, but I've been reading up on it since it first came out and I'm making the switch in a couple of months.

Is there really a full square inch of space left over in the XB8 box?

Nitro if I turn my reciever on its side there is room to add a second one with room to spare...I'll see if I can post a picture later this week...anyone else got a pic of the radio box with a flat pack and spectrum reciever in the stock location that they can post or link to?

You could take a piece of mesh cushion that would be thin enough or you could split it with a razor blade; you can slip it in between the receiver pack and wires. You can cut another piece and place it in between the receiver pack and receiver itself. Hope that helps!
