Looks like the 2012 buggy will be called XB9. Lets get the speculation started!

I wonder how much of a departure this will be from the current form? Xray has always been pretty conservative in their designs. Maybe we'll see a Losi style rear gear box? Maybe rear shocks mounted on the front of the rear tower? I think we can be sure that the radio tray will be reorganized or substantially reshaped to keep in line with the current mass forward trends.

Hopefully they get the shocks right. Wouldn't it be nice to see Kyosho and Associated drivers switching to XRAY shocks? Instead of XRAY drivers switching to AE and Kyosho shocks

I'm interested in the new shock design, but it's hard to tell how the new parts go together. The buggy looks pretty good overall. Nothing shockingly new, which I expected, but the buggy looks reliable. The new centre driveshafts look very nice and I'm glad that they have rubber boots! The design of the radio tray is quite aesthetically pleasing with its super clean lines. On the other hand, the new body, well, I suppose it's hard to pass judgement on the body without seeing it in person first. I think it's safe to say though that the classic lines of cars like the '09 808 are long gone.

Bravo XRay!!!! It looks like all of the issues of the 808 have been resolved. The improvements look to make the new XRay buggy the one to have for this upcoming offroad season. XRay had better crank up production on this thing because it's gonna be HOT!

Personal favorite features:

- sealed, more spacious electronics boxes (yaaaaaaaayyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!)
- velcro mounts on sideguards
- booted CVD's with captured pins
- optimized servo placement

If it's as light and handles as at least as good as the 808 and is as durable as the XB8, the XB9 will be unstoppable.

Now please, PLEASE make a truggy version of the XB9,

XT9 PLEASE!!!

Regards,

speed metal

nice, hope there is a rubber gasket for the radio tray lid...but seeing as the body fits nice and tight it may not need it.

I would like to know the inside dimensions of the receiver box. The radio gear i that run (Nomadio) has a large receiver. Hoping that it will fit.

You will be happy with the XB9, it is an all-new level car which undergone total redesign and was extensively long term tested. And most importantly it has much better handling and performance.

new XB9 looks good, will be interesting to see it when it comes out. If the improvement that the 2011 had is anything to go by, this baby will be one very sweet car to drive... cant wait to put my order in for one...

Hi Reno

Was the car you ran the actual spec the production car will be or did you run any option parts? If so, what options did you run?

Also, do you know what tuning parts (springs/rollbars/pistons etc) will be included in the kit and if so, what other options would you recommend getting to start with...

Thanks
Marc

Hello Marc
I received this car for the race. As it is still a prototype, I don't know which parts will be options or stock. The version you see presented on the website will be more likely the production one. Please note that it is also a prototype shown. Specifications are subject to change without prior notice.
Normally roll bars and springs from 808 are fitting the new car.

Hello Reno,

Just wondering if you are able to provide us with the inside dimensions of the radio receiver box? Thanks.
