No proof how or why by my last mugen had realy long fuel lines & it worked great. My 808 could not support long lines without a severe retune & still never ran right.I used the same motor, pipe, air filter, clutch(with new bell) & fuel & pressure lines, not just like but the exact same pulled out of one car & dropped right into the 808 within maybe 30 min.It was super lean with a 20,000 rpm idle as installed when perfedt before. I think it has smaller holes in the 808 tank pickup(old style) & simply could not keep the volume up for that length of line. Never noticed pooper than normal milage betwen long & short lines when it was in the mugen as the original Picco P7 & JP3 pipe was a power house combo but had low milage no matter what I tried till I changed pipes to 086. Any way with the 808 tank(new or old)a shorter fuel line will help with tuning & flame outs.but your still probably gonna run either fuel or pressure line or both up against the pipe wich is cooler than the head but still really hot. Although silicone is a good insulator figuring out how to run both lines on the centerline of the car may help as much as an alum pressure cooler. What thoughts on that?
