XRAY - Model racing cars

Hello all. First time poster here but I have been collecting wisdom from here for over a year. My question is about the chassis bracing. I will be attending a race soon with huge jumps, one of them gives 30+ vertical feet of air .....Looking to make this thing as rigid as possible to protect the front of the tank and drive trian. Currently I have the front tork brace, stock plastic rear brace, tank mounted very loose with a 1/4 inch layer of packing foam under the tank. Have had no problems with this setup so far, just wondering if I need to add the front and rear alum. braces to add strength....? Alsl running kingz headz front hubs...Should I go alum. in the rear too?? Any tips for this kind of track great. Thanks Ho-Jazz

What you have done will make it strong & seems to be the normal tweaks for added reliability.
Fuel tank as you say loose, i run longer screws on the mounts & put an extra gromet between so to get that bit more flex & movement.
Exhaust mount i file a flat on the rear part to give more clearance on the tank, every little helps.
For us in the UK the std compostite braces had been sufficent as they will help generat grip. For your side of the pond the ali braces seem to be favoured by many for reliability on your big jump tracks, it just comes down to personal preference.
THe Xray +5 hubs with LPR zero offset wheels front & rear is the way to go. If grip is zero go back to +2 or even std if you get the clearance as this will generate grip..

Thanks for the info Bren. Let me clarify one thing though. When I said the alum hubs, I meant the steering blocks. Sorry, thats my bad. I do run the +5 wheel adapters with zero offset LPR's. I will file the pipe mount like you said, thats a good idea. If I go to alum front and rear braces, how much grip will be lost?? Hoping it wont throw my setup off to far. Run a thick bead of ShoeGoo around the seam of your gas tank to ad strength. Most of the time these tanks crack at the seam so this could help shore it up for extreme psycho nitro blast type racing... LOL!
