XRAY - Model racing cars

Which way to go with the XT8? What are the pros and cons.

In my opinion .21
- good engine has enough power
- low fuel consumption
- is lighter than .28
- has higher revs and gets to high revs faster

.28
- lasts longer
- cheap or average priced engine has enough power
- runs more stable
- eats more fuel

When I don't need the BEST engine yet then maybe .28 is better option? Or if I need the BEST engine, then very good .21 is better choice?

But why should you ever choose a .21 then... so why not to choose .28 and go for .21?

it is easier to get the power of an .21 to the ground than get the power of the .28 controlled. Most people don't want to spend time on set-up.
In a Truggy a .21 is easier to drive. The good .28 has got a huge torque, most drivers can't use to be faster. But if you can use the extra power, you will have the better laptimes...

You just need a better Set-up to get the power to the ground. Further some cars do not last long with a big block, the XT8 has no problems to handle these Motors. I am real happy with the XT8 in combination with the Ninja .28. I have the revs like the people with .21 but out of a corner I have much more acceleration (if the set-up is good)

IMO it really comes down to "how good of a driver are you?" (I assume you mean for racing??) If you are very smooth, and have a smooth trigger finger, a good race 28 might well work for you (os or ninja 28) - they are brutally strong though...most people (except for one good driver) I have seen run them have too much power on their hands and are all over the track. I think most people would be faster on the track with a good race 21, which, in all honesty, most of the racers cannot utilize to their full advantage....

In a Truggy, your speed is limited by RPM, and no .28 that I know of out revs a good race .21.

Most high end .21 have more than enough tork to spin the tires, so theres really no need for a .28.
