Make sure you use some green slime or something similar on the o rings when building the shocks..it will stop them from tearing like that...also, make sure that the orings and the spacers are not in there crooked...it is easy to get them wedged in there..

I use Mobil 1 grease all over the place and those shims and O-rings is one of those. You want them to be able to slide into place and not be crooked as mentioned. The O-rings in your carb should get this grease as well so they dont pinch or bind in the brass housing when you trn the needles. Same goes for all the diff O-rings and any time you insert something like a shaft into the O-ring grease that up as well.

I found that I was having a heck of a time bleeding the shocks and couldnt figure out why some of the shocks would have more rebound then others when bled the exact same way. I pulled back the short boot and used a tinny driver to retilt the shims to where they looked level and that was all it was.

It drove me nuts for days and I never did find that info in my searching here so let it be known that if your shocks arent bleeding equally readjust the shims and it will be fine.
