What differences are there between the XT8 and the XB8EC asside from those changes which put it into a truggy form?
I cant say i've looked all that closely, and most of the info about the 2 kits dont mean an aweful lot to me as a nitro-virgin so some things go in one ear and out the other.
I've had the MBX5T-PS sat behind me boxed up for about 5 weeks, got it 24hrs after the announcement of the XT8, plan to swap it at my local along with a new engine & pipe (both so-so, $350 worth of 'so-so' anyway) for the XT8 kit, so I stand to lose a fair wedge on the deal, and if the XT8 isnt the best Xray have to offer then i'll start building the PS up and wait 12 months and see what appears then.
Waiting to hear news of a release date/price doesnt help matters either, nor do the prices appearing on the handful of german show websites, if you put the xray part code and XT8 into google you get about 5-6 shops all selling the XT8 at €550 which is only slightly more expensive than a standard MBX5T, and WAAAAAAY cheaper than the PS version.
Incidently the XB8EC is listed at the same price, though i dont know much about what that says, to me it says cost-cutting on XT8 items included to price the same as XB8EC.
From the XT8 flash description page:
Fuel Tank -
"The large-capacity fuel tank is included as standard..." which is unlike the info released at the start of the month, which was
"The XT8 features the same 120cc fuel tank used by the XB8, with an optional large-capacity 150cc fuel tank available soon"
so maybe the tank issue is now resolved and it will come with a 150cc as it should?
Still, as you say, CVD's and plastic hingepins dont really fit in with:
Rugged, Luxury, Exciting, Heritage
more like: basic, cost cutting, blah, someone elses heritage!
Still, Xray is refering to this as the premium version, its not some entry level kit it just seems they could have made it better but chose not to.
