Other than breaking in the engine, I have never run my new TQ until this last Sunday, so this was my first time running an 1/8 buggy and first time with nitro as well.
I had much help from my friends that have been doing this for sometime and I can tell you I've never had so much fun even after years of electric racing - nitro puts things on a whole different level.
A big thanks to the XRAY team, I put the "US Style" setup in the buggy from the start with 335 in the diffs - read it somewhere on this forum. everyone told me that wasn't going to work, but the car did everything perfectly. Jumped flat on small jumps, a perfectly controlled arc on big jumps and turned in just right without breaking the rear end loose. Out of six or seven mains, I qualified in the middle and bumped up to the next and finished fourth in the "C." Not too bad for a rookie.
What an excellent, excellent car - it looked as good as ANYTHING out there...Losi, Mugen, Kyosho.
Thanks for all the help from everyone on the forums, I couldn't have had more fun and be more excited about racing again.
