XRAY - Model racing cars

i am having a problem with the rear tyres balding very quickly the car is running 5-7-2 in the diffs & 3 degrees camber with med compound panther kd 2 tyres
i have since changed the rear diff to 5000 but havent tried it yet the tracks i usually run on are dry & hard

Any advice would be helpful as my car is chewing rear tyres bald in 2-3 race meetings

coming down on the center diff oil should take some of the power away from the rear end and help in that way..but it depends on why the tires are wearing..is it because the back end is sliding a lot....spinning up coming out of hairpins..rotating a lot coming into corners,all these will wear tyres out and of course the track surface.

if its an abrasive gnarly surface that can chew tyres up in no time..as can high grip abrasive surfaces too.

when i drive out of corners the car will usually slide when i try to put the power down
at major race meetings this isnt a problem because the tracks are usual very grippy but on club days when the tracks havent swept off or grooved i have problems with rear grip

i think i could fix the problem with diff oils & a bit of testing
any advice though would be very helpful

i would come down on the center diff oil if your using 7k..try 3-5k in the center,this should take some of the sting out the rear end.

it might help to post your setup too tho..hard to give advice without a starting point.

i would personally try 5-3-3..and maybe look to go softer on the rear end if the track allow it..maybe white springs if the traction is low?

setups as you know are a personal thing so you have to find out whats right for you,and unfortunately when tracks start to marble up then grip just goes,not a great deal you can do about it except tell yourself its the same for everyone

however if it just seems to be you suffering then experiment with setups...find a time when the track is quiet and have a few hrs playing around when theres no pressure to race.

The more rear toein you run the faster the rear tires will wear out.
