Just a little piece of info —Battery, in defence, means an group of similar weapons operating together for a common cause. In US or UK the term is also sometimes used for system of producing large number of chickens cheaply by keeping chickens in rows of small cages (made of wires).
In electrical or electronic circuits, battery means an assembly of similar cells, essentially producing electrical energy through electrochemical reactions. There are following types of batteries in use or under development today,—
Lead acid battery and its variants Alkaline battery Dry cells — zinc carbon type Nickel Cadmium Nickel Metal Hydride Li ion and its variants Molten metal batteries of number of types Zinc air battery Metal air (other than zinc) Flow air battery UltraBattery These are the main types as of today, and some more types will be under development.
