XRAY - Model racing cars

i pick up this chassis and on the wing it says xb8 (white wing)
notice the front chassis brace is different


so what version is this chassis?
looking for more info on this chassis like date ect?

im hoping to start in off road, would this be ok for a beginner?

This is the original XB8 from 2004.

This was a tank back in the day, very reliable and on speed it was up there with the others. It's certainly not as quick now due to all the advances that have been made in chassis development but it will be fine for you to start out with. You should still be able to get most of the parts for it too if not all of them via your local XRAY distributer and some of the current parts like a tank you seem to be missing, should also fit. What I would get from the start is the rear plastic brace, this calms the car down massively compared to the aluminium part. Weirdly it's the same part we again use today. Number 353089.
