Is there going to be a new 808 for 2012 please?

With Reno Savoya joining the team I predict a new model will be on the cards.

There have been rumors of a Worlds Edition or something along those lines. Reno has only been here a few weeks, he's not going to develop a new car by the end of the year. So maybe a few tweaks and an upgraded part or 2, but not a new car.

There's generally a new model every year with various tweaks - depends how much of the parts tested in recent years by team drivers improves performance and whether they're production ready, as a starter. Clearly a new star driver may have a strong influence on the direction Xray take with new product decisions - be they minor revisions or a major rethink.

Even the original 808 had plenty of XB8EC DNA in terms of interchangeable parts!

I think the 808 platform stays AT LEAST one more year before a total redesign. It has evolved to a point that I really don't see where it could be improved much (as a total platform). I can still run with (and in front of) anything out there.

The 2011 is a solid buggy. From what I'm seeing, even sponsored XRAY drivers are switching to the competitor's shocks. Whether it be Kyosho or Associated. I've seen a lot of that lately.

I sure hope their next kit has some bomb-ass shocks. Longer shocks too for more droop.

Bigger shocks are coming. Whether or not they choose to fix the issues with the current shocks remains to be seen. My guess is they will be the same shock, with the same seal pack issue, just bigger. We switched to AE shocks because they are hands down better and are the proper length. The AE shocks, like the Kyosho's build trouble free also. XRay has been told thru email from several drivers (current and no longer) about the issues the cars have and all fall on deaf ears. From what I understand they are sending other team drivers parts to test that we have already tested and proved to be noneffective. Until XRay drops the arrogance in the design department, and listens to those who are dedicated the platform and have put hundreds of hours into design and testing to make the XRay cars better for the US market, us loyal XRay fans will continue to be underwhelmed with new cars. Granted the 2011 was an improvement over the 2010, it was a small step backwards towards what was correct to begin with. Unless they make significant changes to the shocks, chassis, suspension geometry, etc.. they will continue to be pummeled in the US market by the giants at Kyosho, Associated and Losi. Just my .02 based on literally hundreds of hours of design, testing, research and working with US team drivers.

Wait and see, the XB9 is on the way.
