XRAY - Model racing cars

I wanted to get some different shock springs for my T2 009, I wanted a range to try diff setups and found these:

(1) XRAY Selected Ultimate Racing Springs 24, 6 sets for about 50 pounds, = 1.80 pounds per shock.

or

(2) the new black ones for 8 pounds a pair = 4 pounds per shock.

Firstly why are there new springs, aren't the old colour coded ones just as good? They say they are perfectly matched and so say the info on the new ones etc.....

Why are the new ones black, so when they are on the car you can't tell which ones you have on?

Even if there was the same fine tuning range as the coloured ones, which there are not, it would cost a fortune.

Is this justified as they are so damn pricey??????

So in any case: are the colour coded shocks just as good?

The new springs are more precise. The step from one to the next ist always the same.
you won't need half of the springs from the old set anyway because they are way too stiff for rubber tires.

There are numbers engraved (2.6 or 2.8 for example) where you can see which spring you have in your car.
