Team Drivers,
Im in search of some refinement to an already well set up car. I was reading an old article in the FK05 tips section as I am contemplating the top deck modification for low grip conditions on my Fk05. There was a Tech Tip by Martin Hudy that breifly mentioned something about body type and i have never really paid much attention to body type except for how they look rather than how they differ in performance. And I quote
Remember that body choice is very important too. In very low grip conditions you should use the Stratus1. In case you need to have more steering you can try the Stratus3. The Mazda6 is perfect in high-grip conditions because it gives you more steering but less grip.
Can someone explain to me the relationship that different bodies have to aid and hinder traction and steering specifically in low grip conditions. And how mounting them higher and lower and cutting of excess material of the front and rear bumper's and wing effects handling?
Im wondering why martin would suggest the stratus1 and what characteristics that particular body has compared to the the Current bodes used. I run on Low grip asphalt with a Fk05 and Ive tried a lot of bodies but if the factory guys can recommend some protoform bodies. Eg LTC-R R9R DNA2 etc..
I run 17.5 and 10.5 with rubber and lipo.
Cheers Benzaah
