I've got a T2 '06 which I've had from new and although I ran CA glue around the chassis edges, it has worn quite a lot at the front and rear of the chassis and while I wouldn't say it was delaminating, some wear has occured to the carbon fibre layers which is repaired with a bit more CA glue. You might also notice on a used car that there is some "slop" when gently rotating the wheel, before the diff starts to turn. I've noticed this with my car, but replacing the CVD pins seems to take up most of the "slop". Depending on where the shocks are mounted, the lower mount can get worn by the wheels, again these are easy to replace. The one thing about the high engineering and manufacture standards of the T2 series means that not a lot seems to get badly worn over time unless the car has been abused on the track! If you do buy a second hand car, I'd suggest stripping it down anyway and looking for worn parts or bearings and probably rebuilding the diffs and refilling the shocks. Hope that helps. |
