Hello all. Well i've never raced in my life before but i've purchased an XRAY from a local dealer and i was lead to believe that the car i had was a good car however i've now been told its a two year old car or more. Its the first Xray apparently and as i feel a little cheated although i was buying second hand i'd like to know what parts i can add to my car to improve it.. The alumiunm shock towers will be replaced with the originals i don't know why the previous owner did this.. Regards.. and here's the pics.. i'm from the UK so if anyone knows where i can get spare parts that would be handy..Also is there a preferd body for the xray? I guess i just want to improve the performance of this car without having to spend £300 + pounds..Regards.. nic :(

I suppose you are running on carpet (sorry if i am wrong)

1) Yes I would replace the Alu Shcok Bodies with Plastic ones (Alu ones tend to leak more)

2) If it is second hand then I would replace the diffs and maybe change the belt

If you have never raced before, I suggest you first a copy of the hudy setup guide that is in PDF form and read the entire guide.

Next, start in the 27T class and practice getting around the track first without hitting anything or anyone.

There is always something you can buy to improve the car but it really will mean little until you can get your piloting skilling on par with the car.

I would find the local fast guy at your track and ask him what his using for a body shell, tires and batteries. Having the proper tires for your track is 80% of your setup. The choice of body not so much. Learning to feed and maintain your batteries are also important.

Most important, have fun before spending too much

Well, you have really bought one of the older cars. Anyway all the XRAY cars are top performing, so I am sure you will be doing well. The good thing is that the pivot ball is almost unbreakable, so while you will be improving you do not need to worry with crashes and this will save your budget.

For the parts please visit www.mirageracing.co.uk which is the importer for UK and at their site they have shop locator feature that will help you to get the info where to buy the products localy.
