Brand new car, first time out. Impressed with the car just this odd belt thing. Might well just have been a few odd stones but never had it happen before. Set up is straight kit no changes so belt tension should be correct?

Will try slightly tighter.

Do the low friction belts help at all?

Yes the first thing I checked when it happened was that there was enough clearance between belt and everything else. It is tight but OK. Most cars these days are also fairly mean on the clearance and not had a problem before.

Have checked clean teeth etc and all ok so have gone one notch tighter and will run the car again on Wednesday so will see what happens. may well have been just an odd stone, at least am hoping so.

Ran the T4 tonight for the first time in real anger. Equalled my best time ever with it and have to say I have never had a car that can be raced so hard and still hang in there as this one does. I am seriously impressed.

Ran with the belt one notch tighter than kit and had no problems at all all evening so guess it was either a stone or just unlucky. Certainly seems to be OK now.

Strangely on Sunday I had the same problem. 5 laps in to a race the front belt popped off. Put it back on and had no more trouble but it is kind of worrying. Will try the low friction option next. Cannot see anything that would have caused it.

Hi Paul,
I recently bought a Xray T3 2012 (to retire me old TC3) for my 17.5 touring stock class. I am looking for a balance set i can use both on carpet during the winter and as well on for the summer when are asphalt track is dry. would you happen to know a good balanced setup? we all run rubber tires not allowed foam.
