Post subject: | mounting the lower suspension holders |
i just got my t2 009 and starting building it and already encounteted a problem when following the instruction manual ![]() looking at the page below: it show the lower rear roll centres. It says to put 1x0.75mm shim and 1x1.5mm shim to the rearmost holder and none (for the EU version) to the frontmost holder. in this manner.. when you tighten down the holders... it is out of alignment and just doesn't feel right. if tightened completely the arm binds.. anybody knows where I'm wrong? thanks!! |

Did the arms need reemed? Sometimes when changing the rollcenters, when I'm tightening I will hold the hingepin holder in the opposite direction of tightening it and it will prevent binding. These are the only two things I ever encountered that would result in your problem. As far as the the difference in shims front to rear for toe, that would not cause this problem. I built my 009 EU to this setup initially and all was fine. I'd check the two things I listed. HTH |

Gordon, The manual is correct - With those shims you get the toe in (it is different compared to the NT1) Do not tighten the screws too much. When you tighten the screws tap the wishbones with a wrench until they free up. Finished my 09 today ![]() ![]() If you need anything give me a call. Karl |

1. Ream the holes. 2. Bend the suspension holders outwards while tightening the screws. 3. If it is still too tight then dremel or file down the arm slightly. |
