XRAY - Model racing cars

I saw on the diff announcement this:

.......XRAY will continue to include the aluminum differential in the kit as well as offer it as a spare part.

Did I understand this?

If I buy a T2'008 EU version I will receive a spare diff? I will get a multi-diff and 2 diffs?

The release indicates that the aluminum differentials will still be supplied in the kits instead of the composite differentials.

The T2'008EU would include 1 composite solid axle and 1 aluminum differential.

The T2'008US would include 2 aluminum differentials

How about weight?
Diff gear will be more havier isn't it?

A gear diff does not work as expected. It's a run time killer due to the lack of efficiency.
The weight is not the problem.
The friction is regulated by the thickness of the used oil. This is also difficult to manage, because the oil tends to get hot during a run and the diff wil change in way of working.

So please let us stay with the very good working diffs.

Nice would be a alu diff with D-rings. That will be more efficient.

Putting some diff grease on the 'wrong side' is more cost efficient and works also.

There is no need for D-rings. Just put grease on the back of the rings as shown in the instruction manual and the diff will not slip if built correctly.

A gear diff is heavier. I believe it will also have a negative effect on the handling since it will not slip and can therefore never provide the same traction as a ball diff. For electric touring car racing a ball diff is the best choice.
