Hi, after a few years away from racing I am returning with an xray 008 6 cell eu kit and I'm abit confused about the updated parts that are being sent out. I have only had a poke around in the box so far but you guys have done a great job especially with the setup manual, things were never this complicated when I raced before!

I have had to wait whilst the shop got the kit from the UK distributor so I would have thought I would have the latest kit. I have left everything bagged up at the moment but from looking at it it looks like it has come with the extra diff gears and pulleys to change the internal ratio to 1.7, the kit has come with the rear diff prebuilt with what I presume to be the 38 tooth gear. I will rebuild this, thats not a problem.

I am wondering about the other updated parts, I believe they are the layshaft and antiroll bar mounts, is there anything else? One of the bags has a piece of paper in it showing old/new mounts for the roll bar but I can't see anything about the layshaft.

I have spoken to mirage (uk distributor) and he wasn't sure, checked and called me back to say I will probably need the new parts so they will send them out to me, possibly this week maybe next week which is fantastic as there is no charge to me.

Is there any photos anywhere of the new parts so I can compare what i've got with the updated parts?

I had great fun looking through this little lot last night, cheers guys.

Thanks for the replys guys,

I've looked a bit further into whats contained in the kit, i'm pretty sure that I have got at least a couple of the updated parts if not all. I've attached photos of what i can see have definatly been updated.

West, I've had a look at xrays site and I can see the revised pulleys but i can't see any of the other parts. Is there any chance you might be able to post a link? Cheers mate.

I think i might just put the kit together then double check when i the parts through the post. I have no intention of running the car for a couple of weeks anyway so it can't really do any harm. I need to get my bodyshell cut out and mounted so I need to build the car before I can do that anyway.

Hey, yeah that looks to be everything you should need,

I would reccomend going with 34/20th pullies as this gives you less belt and pulley wear.

The new Layshaft Housing's are a total fix of the Pinion/Belt Problem so i would also reccomend installing them.

Lastly the Roll Bar mounts also fix the Roll Bar/Diff problem,

So basically i would reccomend swapping all these parts over, and your car should be ready.

Hope you have fun with the Build,

Kind Regards, Ryan Maker

Is it correct that latest batch of T2'008 EU 5cells come with all flat-end pin? As I searched my build I cant find any round-end pin...

Hi Guys,

Just finished installing electronics on our new T2008 EU 6 cells yesterday night.

The assembly was smooth while I was also setting up the car for my driver at the same time. All the parts are in order along with the upgrades.

The only area that I wanted to do but did not until testing are the shocks shimming. Currently one side are inward and might shim later to make shocks same level.

Important:
1. The screw that holds the upper part of steering/upright. Extremely close to the rim.
2. Pinion near battery tap. Gotta flatten that last tap today.

Enjoy the ride !

Stephen
