Does XRAY plan on making smaller 64 pitch spurs to cope with the crazy rollouts required by brushless motors? There is no way to get there with the range of spurs currently offered by XRAY. For example, a Novak 17.5 (the ROAR approved "stock equivalent") puts the rollout close to 51mm. Try getting that with a 112 tooth spur. Even with a 13.5, I'm running a 96 tooth spur and a 42 tooth pinion. |

Nope, Novak recommends a 3.5 FDR for the 17.5 motor, and 4.5 FDR for the 13.5 motor. If you run the 13mm tuning rotor, the recommended FDR is 3.0 for the 17.5, and 4.0 for the 13.5. One of the local XRAY drivers was using an 80t spur (64 pitch), and a pinion in the 40t range. See http://www.teamnovak.com/tech_info/brus ... aring.html for their recommended FDRs. |
