6A is a good charge rate. Don't trickle charge. Discharge current of 5-10A is good, cutoff voltage of 0.9V/cell is good. 0mV peak sensitivity is good. 3mV is OK if you want a hot battery, but probably not good for the long term life of the battery. 140degF is a good tempt cutoff, though I don't use the temp sensor. The Ice is very good at detecting peaks. Go with 120% max charge capacity. |

By the way .. guys .. do you have any idea about the statement below .. this is from the - http://www.cheapbatterypacks.com just wondering is worth to pay extra for this "Pack Upgraded"? Pack Upgraded The process involves end to end soldering and/or copper bar usage for intercell connections. There is an extra fee for this upgrade. Upgraded packs will allow for much higher amp draw versus the standard welded packs. Welded packs are good to about 30 amps max. The ugpraded packs will have much lower resistance than the welded packs which allows current to travel freely through the circuit. As AMP loads increase resistance is multiplied and becomes a very major power robing factor. |

I think Adam's advice is good but I would differ on one point ie 6A. I suspect regular charging at this rate might reduce the longevity, 120% which personally I feel is reasonable is 5.4A BUT I am not familiar with these batteries and would defer to anyone with hands on expereince. I run IB and EP4200s and these days charge them at 1C during practice and maintenace and at 1.2 C on race days. Others that I have been more agressive with in te past have not lasted too long!! |
