What I really would like is the 008 solid axle instead my current 007 Multdiff. All of these, bacause the plastic caps issue in the driveshaft adapter. Since is not easy to get replacing parts here in Colombia, Latin America, it could be better for me to have the 008 solid axle. There are just 2 007 in my club, not any 008, so I donty have the opportunity to see in the real life I have noticed the middle shaft differences you mention, and thats why my question, but looking closely the pictures in the 008, I can´t notice too much differences between both front axles, regarding pulley ubication. its just could be 1 0r 2 mm. I have noticed new pulleys are thinner. in the back axle i saw it´s completely different. Other suggestion or idea to fix easily the problem for all multidiff t2 007 and early owners, is to just change the inner driveshaft adapter (305131) by an improved one that includes the a solid end, without any plastic cap required. It Is just a redisign issue, and we, the proudly owners of xray EU versions, will appreciate |

That is forthright stuff Motorstock! I do have some sympathy. From my experience I do not think the Multi-diff for asphalt/rubber has been a great design in terms of vehicle reliability. It is interesting that it is not carried over to the 008 – apart from being an option. And it is also true, I personally think, that unlike previous Xray versions the compatibility of parts of the new model (008) with previous models is quite low. So your comment I think is fair this time, although maybe harsh if focussed at previous models. BUT I also personally believe that XRAY is very strong in other areas compared with other brands. Spares - you need something? You get it, it works. And I also personally believe that the Xray components in general are very well engineered. For example check out the forums on the S400 which has been very well received. But the forums are full of stories of parts breaking, of people suggesting parts from other cars to get over the problems, and indeed on where can we get S400parts from. This does not happen in the XRAY World. And whilst many will criticise Xray for continually bringing out new cars, the 008 is engineered for the future, ie brushless and Lipo. Read the forums for questions on will this Lipo pack fit my car, will it overhand and drag on the floor; how much of the chassis/bulkhead do I have to cut away to make it fit. Will not happen with the 008. And it really does look as if they have optimised the 008 for the different racing scenarios this time. And they have pledged it has a wider setup window and will compete straight out of the box. Like you Motorstock I have been a little disappointed with the T2, compared with the T1R we had before but I expect our ‘008 to arrive in the next 2 weeks. If the T2 had been that bad I would not have ordered the 008 would I!! Everything is relative. Juraj admitted in his recent Xray column that they got a few things wrong and I think he needs respect for that and because of that I trust him when he says what he has done with the 008 to address these failings. Keep the faith! |

Mario, (Yellow this could works for both of us) I think you can help me to solve this issue regarding the hudy steel multidiff driveshaft adapters (335131) , since you, in xray, have the way to do it (hopefully) . Looking for an alternative solution, without have to sacrifice the T2 multidiff instead of a ball diff, and considering the additional incompablity with 008 solid axle,, I have found that you in xray currently make a similar part that it´s exactly what I am looking for. Check the XRAY nitro NT1´s multidiff design (335100) and you could notice that inner driveshafts adapters are similar to T2´s ones, except that it has a better design for the hudyspring steel adapter, avoiding the driveshafts rotate over its own axis or get out of its position. the t2 adapter is lighter, less rotating mass, but it's moreflexible and weak. Since after a crash i have found that the driveshafts tends get out of its place and obviously the plastic cap broken. yhis is a huge problem If the problem is just the plastic cap wearing, it wouldnt matter too much, but a driveshaft out of its position means race retirement. I am almost sure that if we can bring the NT1 multidiff adapter design to the T2 Multidiff, it would be great. For me i dont mind if it's lighter or not, what I am looking for is relaibility, even in minor crash Please check if both parts are similar and compatible, If so, pls let me know the part number for the NT1 adapter ( not the whole multidiff), similar to T2 adapter (305131) Thanks Motorstock PS. I found the part number for the NT1 multidiff Inner Driveshaft Adapter - Hudy Spring Steel™ Part number: # 335130 Is it compatible with T2 Part number: # 305131 ? I saw both pictures and they really look similar. The hudy steel end is similar to the differential ball adpater end, and this design avoid the driveshaft tends to get out of it´s position The NT1 inner drivesahft adapter, I think solves the issue. Please let me know what´s your opinion Mario? |
