hey all i have recently been having problems with the front belt twisting of the front diff. i have loosened the tensioned of the belt but i know that is not the problem because when i had it set at the stock setting it still did it. do you think i shoud tighten the belt back up? or what else can you sugest?? and also is it natural for the xray belts to sit slightly twisted??(this was before the belt problem). |

ok i'll try these ideas. i would have to agree that with the faster motors that the belt dose loosen because of the extra force applyed when its spinning. another question if i do tighten up my belt to one notch tighter that the stock setting, will it have any canges towards my drive train? (the smoothness?) |

Even though I never had a problem, on the original T1 I made a guide out of a scrap piece of Lexan to prevent the belt from jumping off the front pulley. I assume it will work on the newer models. Simply stated you take a small piece of Lexan and notch it so that it can straddle the top of the front pulley fairly close to the belt and mount it to the front shock tower/bulkheads using the existing mounting screws. Don't know if it will work to solve your problem. |

This happened to me last weekend, the old belt was damaged so I replaced it and then it stopped skipping. Be sure to have a quite loose belt as this makes the drivetrain smoother. |
