gas car foams? what the? how did that work and what surface were u on?

They worked great once I figured out the right front/rear shore combination for balanced high grip. Now that my setup is dialed, even though I have 40sh on the front and 30sh on the rear, they wear evenly all the way around. I run them on both asphalt (stock only as they wear too fast in mod) and carpet (stock and mod). The four advantages I've found are:

1. Stability - They withstand a lot of abuse and keep on performing. During one qualifier I hit the wall and recovered quickly. But as I continued on I started to hear a flapping vibration sound at the end of the straight, but my car stayed true and handling was still great through the infield. At the end of the qualifier (timed 4th for A main) I inspected my car and couldn't find anything wrong with it until I took the wheels off and found that my left front (takes the most abuse on our clockwise tracks) tread/rim was cut completely through as if I had done it myself with shears. Apparently the rim still kept perfect composure under compression, but started to flex out at high speed and flap against the hood. This was going on during most of the qualifier yet the handling was perfect.

2. Adjustability - More shore/width selections allowed me to find and use 30mm very soft rears. Using these and adding 2 to 2.5 degrees toe-in to the rear keeps it planted when bumped by others and while they tend to spin out, I keep going. Even with the extra width, they are still lighter than most 26mm electric foams. I haven't found this setup to be a hinderance to my top speed or acceleration compared to the local fast guys yet. I use the maximum wheel base with 50/50 front/rear & left/right weight distribution to keep the weight spread across all four tires.

3. Availability - I can get these all day long at several stores locally in emergencies and on-line for better prices. Where as the preferred electric TC foams used by the fast guys here become scarce quickly. Most have to order them.

4. Looks - How can you not like the unique five spoke design that makes any TC look realistic and aggressive? Especially next to the dull and bland standard dish rims that everyone overcompensates for in their body art work... One thing this hobby is somewhat lacking in is originality of art within design (not to include the great trick looking xray chassis of course) for wheels, bodies, etc...
