Hello.

Very much like we're going to test a different race in the near future.
Instead of the usual Mazda-Stratus choice, we're going to have a race where GT bodies will be used.

To better explain:
F50
Enzo
F360
Saleen S7
Porsche 996
Lamborghini Murcielago - Gallardo
Lotus Elise
TVR tuscan.
Mclaren F1

Did any of you knows how those bodies handle? Any experience to share?

The test might be held on carpet, tyres to be choosen yet.

Any lead will be appreciated.

My findings:

Enzo - A lot of downforce all the way around, but very responsive steering
F360 - Pretty neutral and closest to Stratus
Porsche 996 - I tried it before I really knew anything about setup/handling, but the car handled well all things considering. I'd hazard a guess that it provides good all around downforce and responsive steering
Elise - More rear downforce. Good high speed handling.

If you can get one.. the protoform Porche Boxter was superb. Very much like the current Mazda6. Lots of turn in with low drag curves.

The current trend is for stubby tailed shells, a lot of the one you mention have long tails(in comparison). I liked the Elise but it has more drag than some of the lower shells.

Go for the lowest drag shell, if you ar on carpet with foams you will have loads of grip anyway...

The tuscan has the "centre of pressure" too far back, it will understeer like a whale..

I have seen some of the Japanese drivers using the Bugati shell. Myrberg has used one at some point, I remember seeing a picture, green white and gold colours it was.

i have been using the enzo. i had one main problem and that was that the steering was really stiff. i have several bodies, and the enzo is the only with stiff steering. (it might just be that i have not correctly positioned the holes for the body posts.)

The 360 has a blunt nose like the stratus. But w/ those bodies, handling has alot to do w/ your wing.

BTW, the camouflage worked wonders as most foe's on the track last night didn't see me coming up their inside, nor did they like it when my wide rear girth was immovable when they bumped me in disapproval for passing them... :lol:

Also, if you look at the rear window & tailgate you get a new meaning to the "H2" term. :shock:

Will we see the H2 piloted by the team driver himself at a race sometime?!?! :lol:
