Hi Everyone-
I've been racing my T2 (not '007) for a awhile w/a 4200 lipo (silver brick) and the novak gtb. Normally, I have the gtb on the left between the motor and the servo.
I like running a balanced chassis left-to-right (i.e. one that will sit on the balancing pegs and require little shock preload adjustments for tweak. But, in order to do that, I'm adding 126g of lead to the right side of the chassis (42g sides along the lower, right, front edge of the lipo and the rest sits on the chassis in front of the lipo.
With all that led, I'm 4oz (a little less) over weight. So I'm thinking...
If I can move the lipo backwards, I can put the gtb on the right side of the car in front of the battery. that swing of weight should be enough that either I have to add some to the left for balance, or very little to the right/center to meet weight limits. In order to do that, I'm considering holding the lipo vertically.
Here are some pics :
(current, flat)
(potential vert)
(assuming I can keep the lipo from moving)
It seems that the weight of the lipo is so light, that having it vertical but more centered (remember, I wouldn't have 42g of lead on the far, right edge of the car either) might be a fair trade off?
If I can pull 4oz off of the total weight of the car, is this even something I should be considering? Before I relocate the receiver and gtb and redo all of the wiring / balancing, I thought I'd ask here for thoughts first.
Thanks!
daniel
