I gear at 5.28 at my track... which ends up being an 84/27 combo. Try it and see - just monitor engine temp and don't run over 5-6 min... stresses the motor quite a bit. |

Note one of the hash marks on the outside blue ring. Loosen the three screws in the middle of the top plate without completely removing them, and rotate the blue ring using a flathead COUNTERCLOCKWISE (to the left) about 1mm from the mark it's at now. Tighten the three screws back and try the motor on the track. Supposedly you are not to make timing changes greater than 2mm. I recommend doing a back-to-back test with the same gearing used, so that you can isolate exactly what the timing change did to the powerband. Good luck! |

OK, well tried a 24T pinion that seemed to get me about the best time. The 22T was a little slow and off the pace. I recon at the minute the gearing so far will be around 23/87 but might try a bigger spur to get me a little more punch. |
