XRAY - Model racing cars

I have used carborater cleaner, this past season. I won one race, took second the following week (got Hit) and won the next two weeks.
"When and why would I clean the tires"
Seems to me that clean tires are happy tires. We run on old asphalt and I try to keep the dirt& sand cleaned off (the track). I ain't really sure if it was 'clean tires' or if I was just in the zone but I foolishly decided to run a Barracuda R2 and didn't do so well so I'm back wif My Xrays. Took 2nd last weekend but didn't clean the tires.

at my track we are only allowed to use jack the gripper, and we use foam tires, with 19T motors,

what i usually do is after i marshal the race after mine, i put the compound on, and let it soak in for the length of the race thats going, (6 min), then i wipe it off with a towel, and let it dry until my next run, this seems to give me the most consistent run for the whole 6 min race,

i also put full compound on both the front and rear, or if i go to a softer front, i dont put any on it, and it seems to work basically the same as the harder front with full compound,

oh and we usually only have 3 heats, with 5 min between heats, and 10 min between rounds, its jsut a little club track, so the compound probally soaks wet for 8-10 min, then i wipe it off, and it drys for 10-15min, when it drys its usually dry to the touch, but the foam is left feeling sticky, if its not completely dry it feels kind of wet and slimey,

i've never used rubber tires, but i know for foam you have to give it time to soak in (i usually give it 10 - 15min), if you jsut put it on and then wipe it off, it works good for a couple laps, but then the traction all goes away, i dont know if its the same for rubber or not thgouh, i asume it would be thgouh,

I use Stick-ET on my take-off 27 and 22's. It seams that the traction additive wears off about 2 laps into the race. Is all the traction sauce good for is getting a fast start or is it supposed to stay on throughout the race.

BTW: I race 19turn on asphalt.

IMO you are looking for it to last long enough to get heat into the tires.
