Hi, I downloaded the carpet rubber setup. It looks very similar to the setup I use now. Im looking forward to test this exact setup though! One question, I see you use the middle lower mounting hole for the front camber link. Can you explain the reason for this? Regards Ole C |

You can get 2mm lower aluminum shock collars to fix this. The collars may contact the arm if you use hole#1 or #2 on the tower and you will need to shave a little into the arm to fix this. I use #2 and have shaved the arms with no ill effects on the track in handling or crash damage so far. |

Post subject: | Josh Cyrul's T1FK foam/carpet setup |
I have some questions about Josh Cyrul's foam/carpet setup as posted at http://www.teamxray.com/teamxray/showfi ... le_id=1881 a) Shock oil is listed as 70W (front) and 35W (rear)... what brand oil? XRAY shock oil only goes up to 50W... b) On the rear lower arm, the shock mounting position is shown as being in the outer position (using a 28mm wide rim). How is it possible to do this? When I tried to do this, the rim hits the shock lower joint. I tried trimming back the arm's mounting position to move the shock lower joint is closer to the arm (more forward), but the rim still hits. c) Where is a 0.7mm front anti-roll bar available? d) Is Josh really using the older-style front shock tower? Not the newer "FK" version? e) What chassis and top deck were used? XRC and wide upper deck? f) Confirm that Ackermann extensions were used... Glenn Cauley Ottawa, Canada |

Thank you temagp. So Xray haven't made parts for this? BTW GlennCauley, I have the answer to your question C: Cyrul grinds a 1.0 mm anti roll bar down to 0,7mm himself. And to your question B, I'm pretty sure he shaves of the whole protruding shock mounting part on the arm, and thereby moving the mounting point forward enough to clear the rim. |
