XRAY - Model racing cars

I want to convert a T2 electric on road car to be able to race with Nitro cars at a local club. The Xray T2 looks to be a good choice for this because I should be able to use Xray NT1 parts. The reason for this is because I can't stand Nitro engines.

First off I will be running a Brushless motor in the T2 but not a Ferrite magnet motor that you use in 1/10 electric racing. I will be using a Lehner Brushless Rare Earth (mainly Cobalt) Magnet motor that puts out more torque and rpm then a Nitro engine. These are used in electric aircraft. I will also be using Lipo (123 systems) batteries.

I can see a number of parts that will need to be replaced in a T2 to handle the power.

1. Spur Gear
Can I use one of the NT1 spur gears?

2. Differentials
The NT1 has metal gear diffs in the front and rear. Can I use these?

3. XRAY Multi-Diff
This is offered as an optional part on the NT1. How does this handle the power? Is there a ball diff in this thing or gears?

4. Lack of center diff
Anyway to add a ball diff on the spur gear? Or provide some kind of center diff. Breaking expensive motor shafts isn't fun.

5. Shocks, Towers, A Arms
Are these the same between the T2 and NT1 kits?

6. Anything else that I may need to replace in a T2 to make it as tough as a NT1?

a T2 with a 3.5T brushless motor will easily run with nitro tourers. beef it up with the aluminiun parts. calculate your gearing carefully so as not to thermal. how do you plan on pitting for a battery change in the 30min finals? Lipo is definitely the answer for you. 8000mah!

You will never be able to make a proper nitro conversion, there is just to many things that would need changing.

FACT IS! IF your running in parking lot races it dont take much for an electric touring car to out run a nitro car..

Get a low turn brushless and some 5000mah lipos. Get 2 or 3 packs. Create a quick release system so that you can pit for battery power. Chances are you will bit once for every 2 pits the nitro guys come in for, so your longer pit stop will be offset by this fact.

1- Why use a heavy spur gear?
2- A properly built ball diff will last for ever and is tunable, My NTC3 used them, my serpent ect ect.....
3-multi diff is tuff as nails, ram it into a wall at 40-50mph and well it may not agree with that, but then agian the rest of the car wont either
4-Center diff? NT1 doesn't have one either why would u want one?
5-shocks and towers are comparable in material the arms are probably bigger on the nt1
6- Add a front bumper, dont hit stuff. slow down
