By request, here is how I check the front-to-rear balance point on my car.
The tool is a length of aluminum angle.
As you can see, I do it without the battery for simplicity and a better view of the bar's position. This doesn't find the CG location for the car as it would race. I'm not really interested in that. I used this to make sure the car in this condition had equal CG locations for my brushed and brushless cars.
In case you didn't know, front-to-back CG location is important to the handling of the car in a turn.
