XRAY - Model racing cars

hello,

i used the t2007 yesterday on lowgrip asphalt (first meeting held at the track) my car had such little grip compared to all the others it was unreal. The car would understeer on corner entry and oversteer on exit. i have a feeling i was on the wrong tyres, but the ones i was using are the control tyre for a series i race in that is visiting the track in two weeks time so need to get the car working on those tyres.

I have posted my set up sheet on the set up area, using this username and the track is eastbourne.

would some one in the knowlegde be so kind as to look at this sheet and maybe recommend one or two changes i could make to get the car too work in these conditions

Just looking at your sheet.
First thing is tyre goop were you running anything and what was everyone else running.
Just set your camber links to kit which is long and low.
Start with your shocks mounted on the outside hole on the arm.
The last and probablly the most critical on your setup sheet is the track width at the front you have no shims,just put the 1.5mm shims in which is kit and try again.
When i run the spool kit set up, i usually need steering.

i have looked at my set up again and i was using the 1.5mm shim at the front. i think the tyre goop will go someway to helping but feel there was a fundamental problem with the car, as it was creating no mechanical grip.

maybe the tyres just dont work at the track and ervyone will be as bad as me on the control tyre

I ran the STCC tyres in the 2nd round and pulled off after a few laps because it was all over the show.

Stuck the RP30's back on for the last round and qualified 2nd in 19t.

Good job there are two Wednesday night and one Sunday meetings between now and the 29th.

I Know what you mean Mark, the grip is low at this new track. Have a look at my set-up to compare to yours.
