If is your setup, then I'd suggest changing your chassis MFT to fully soft on the T2R.

here's the setting I used last friday. yes checked everthing else all seems bang on. It's just getting the front to grip is the bit issue. I am just trying to get it as good as my T2 which is my main car because I use this as a backup if the T2 gets broken and theirs not enough time between heats to repair it.

xform/index.php?act=view&ID=1492&setup=t2

Why fully soft ? Wouldn't it need to be stiffer like the T2 ?

Not tried that myself at all. Not sure it would fit to be honest due to the shape of the bulkheads.

I know a friend of mine had to break down his stick packs and soldered them to side by side cells and put battery heat shrink on each cell. Might be a good time to invest in some batteries 8)

On the plus side the T2R is the buy of century at the price it's being sold for. Only problem people have here is getting one. :(

if my settings work I'll post the setup sheet here. 8)

Andy,

How much is the front and rear droop (over ride height)? I think your rear downstops may be a bit too low, causing more weight to stay over the front when you go on-power as the car is still leaned over. You might want to try 5 (no more than 2mm droop over ride height) as shows. I'd also suggest running front & rear anti-roll bars like he has. These changes should allow you to stand up the rear shocks.

Now, an interesting thing happened at a track I visited today. Six drivers had come prepared to race rubber on carpet with either brushless 4300's or fixed endbell 19t brushed motors.

So of course I had to purchase a set of the tires they were running (Sorex 28r), cut out a little more front wheel space on my spare DNA1 body, put in a Checkpoint brushed 19t and run the car as is with my stock foam/carpet setup.

The rear was a little loose coming into a tight left hander at the end of the straight so I decided to try a few minor changes as I still had to race stock foam with only 10 minutes in between classes to setup the car for rubber tires. Here is the order of things I tried:

* Leaned the rear shocks in 1 and 2 holes
* Closed on hole in the rear shocks
* Put the top deck at soft setting without pylons

With these changes the car actually stopped oversteering at entry, but started oversteering mid corner and understeering on-power. I could tell that the inside rear tire was lifting off the ground if I turned too hard and quick. So I knew that I had changed too many things and then started back tracking...

* Added the two front screws back to the top deck
* stood the rear shocks back up to 1 hole in
* Added the two rear screws and the motor mount screw back to the top deck

This is when the car finally stopped oversteering mid corner and understeering on-power. So in the end all I changed in the setup between rounds was to open up one more hole on the rear shocks to allow the rear to settle down and grip quicker. This makes sense as I had to adjust the setup to account for changing from the imbalanced front to rear foam tire compounds (Indigo/Magenta) to the balanced front to rear rubber compound. Of course I also had to turn up the transmitter EPA/dual rate from the foam settings of 12d/13d (outside/inside front tire) to the rubber settings of 15d/16.5d.

Here's the funky, pretty stiff, but working setup. I was able to qualify only 1 second behind TQ and after a bad first few laps in the main, I was able to finish just 4 tenths behind him after being as far behind as 6 seconds. Fastest lap of the day for anyone was actually my last one trying to catch him before the line.
