Just ordered a '007. Cant wait untill it arrives. 1. The guys i ordered it from couldn't get a battery brace for me for a while, so i decided to make my own in the mean time. All i need at the moment is the measurement from the center of the post holes either end. Just going to use 2 body posts and make up a fiberglass brace. Fancy if i can be bothered. 2. I read about having to oil the bearings prior to use, never had to do this on any of my cars before, so what type of oil do i need? No hobby shops around here, so is there a common substitute available? Sewing machine oil or simular? 3. Anything else i should know? Got a bit of time to build it. Saving for other bits before it will be ready to race. Motor, ESC, batteries still deciding on motors (novak, LRP or Castle creations). Don't want to take the stuff out of my other cars |

Only use designated bearing oil, anything else could be too thin or too tick and result in disaster. I wouldnt suggest making your own battery brace as it could tweak your chassis. |

I agree about the brace. I prefer strapping tape anyway, It has a much more possitive grip. Any light weight bearing oil should work, If you have some you use on motor bearings that would be perfect. In a pinch 3-1 oil could do, but I've found it to be a little thick and the bearings aren't as free spinning, but it shouldn't hurt anything. As for ESC I use the LRP in both my brushless systems and love it. I even waited 3 months till the became available again to get the second, passing up the Novak. Good luck, you'll love the build of the car. |

For the record, I use cheap tape, and I can get four or five batteries out of one length of tape before it needs replacing. |
