the only advise i would say to run on wood is to run a spool in the front and tight diff in the rear when using mini pins on wood i never run inserts the grip level is really amazing but i dont know how your rules run. as for gearing dont try to gear by any roll out you will need to gear by the heat buildup. when i run on wood its with the T1 running A 19turn motor so a little more torque than the 27t. when on wood i always over gear it, because of the lack of grip there will be less heat build up in the motor. but be careful there will be good grip with mini pins without inserts so some heat will be expected. with over gearing the motor it will give you loads of speed but it will also help to pull you through the corner holding a good drift line (VERY NICE) you will want to run it stiff on the chassis and firm the kit springs will be fine but balance is the key it must be setup on a flat surface and all setting side to side equal or it will turn different left to right hand corners and generally handle like a dog in one direction.. hope this helps.. |
