Hello, I've discovered the cause of why my main drive belt is starting to frey. The grub screw on the pinions is catching the edge of the belt. This only happens when the car is is use, either as the belt tightens on power, or from bounce. (see attachment) My question is, which brand of pinion can be used which preferably can be mounted the normal way (grub screw toward the motor) and still obtain full contact. This would eliminate the chance of the grub catching. cheers |

Judging by your picture the problem is not the pinion. It seems to me that the grub screw you are using is too long. It sticks out more than a mm where it should be flush with the edge. I suggest you get some short grub screws. For instance these: . |

Hi Foophonic, Tony is right, screw in pinion is too long and it causes your belt problem. Why you do not use screw which is included in pinion bag? |

I use on my T2 XRAY pinions and don't have problems. http://www.teamxray.com/teamxray/produc ... egoria=266 Try to turn around the pinion - screw to the motor side. |
