Okay, it doesn't matter that the wheel arches of the body don't match the ones youre cutting out. I thought because of that you get the wrong air flow around the body that would result in handling problems.

Another fitting question. I've seen bodies who where almost scraping the asphalt. There was 1 mm or less between the body and the asphalt. Is this normal? What is the ideal heigth?

The stratus body is now set up so it is even with the bottom deck? Should I lower it a bit?

I can't cut out wheel arches yet because not all the electronics haven't arived.

Tony, are you coming to the Open Club at MACH heemstede this weekend?

Regards,

Theo

Yes I'll be at the MACH Friday evening and Sunday for sure. Not certain about Saturday though.

As to body height, I usually have it so it is about 1mm above the bottom of the chassis plate. Flush with the bottom will also be ok, but the body might hit the ground during cornering. Only 1mm above the track surface is ridiculous. This way the body will hit the ground for sure potentially causing all sorts of handling problems.

i had to trim the foam bumber of my T2 to get the stratus to sit properly, other wise the wheelwells both front and rear were WAY too far back.

Another fitting question.

I've red that the minimum height of a body must be 115 mm to the top of the roof according to the EFRA rules.
Is the height on top of the T2 chassis or the body alone?
Will this be tested during races?

Regards,

Theo.

Whether the technical control at a given race will check the roof height depends on the organization and the rules used for the event. Under EFRA rules the height of the body is measured from the track surface to the roof of the body. The body roof must be at least 115mm above the track surface under EFRA rules.

But do they measure the height with or without the chassis under it?
If the chassis is under it the body can be lower than without.

Theo

Correct the measurement is taken race ready. I.e. body mounted to the car and the car standing on its wheels in race trim and at race weight (battery mounted!). This means that if you lower the ride height you could find the body is less than 115mm above the track surface.

BTW, if you need more clarity on this and other rules I suggest you contact EFRA and order the EFRA rule book.
