Post subject: | FK04 saddle pack fitting |
Hello, I am new to the world of xray and just acquired a used T1 FK04 with a saddle pack specific chassis. Is this the XRC chassis? I sent the good people of xray an email with my battery problem and I was directed to the forum. I tried searching for info on how to fit oversized packs on but nothing for my car it seems ![]() I have observed the battery strap post is just too close to the acutal battery slots. I am not a fan of using tape to hold down the batteries. Is that going to be my only option? |

3300's fit fine, for the larger cells you have to dremel the posts out some in the centers to get the radius of the cells to fit. |

My 3300s fit perfect. My VTEC3800s are giving me a little headache. The posts don't look like there's much room left to dremel. They are already arced to fit 3300s. I'm guessing if I dremelled any more, I'll have too many pieces of posts haha |

the factory chasis should have enough slots cut out for six cell's on either side of the chasis. the xrc chasis is for saddle and yes the posts require dremeling as well as the rear bulkheads. |

You also will need to file the chassis slots or add shims under the battery holder post. |

Thanks for the tips! I just got my staggered battery layout chassis last night. The posts on that fits almost perfect with my FAT cells. I will be enlarging the slots on my XRC and the arcs on the posts later today. I'm sure once those FAT cells sit a little lower, the rest of the work should be quite straightforward! Once again, sincere thanks from an Xray noob ![]() |
