OK, the lowdown on Xray's... ![]() If you are running on carpet only I would suggest you get the Racer (T1R)version, it has more flex than the Factory and is easier to setup. It's also cheaper! Spare...umm, I have a spare wishbone in my toolbox, so I must have bought a pair at some point...maybe worth getting a set of c-hubs as well. I also have a spare belt as I upgraded to the improved versions about 2 years ago. You may need another sheld at home for all the trophys... ![]() I have 3 Xrays (my sons and I race) and that's all I have! So this is about 6-9 years of combined running! |

Hi i slightly disagree with the t1r choice if you look at all the carpet nationals they all run factory kits with the thick chassis i think stiffer is the way to go because you can't predict flex in a chassis but we all have our own oppinions on the spares situation the C hub is prob the weakest part but that is only if you crash alot and the barriers are big solid blocks of wood if you ever run a spool (solid front axel ) i would replace the front drive pin cussions every now and then but apart from that thats all ive ever needed in hope this helps |

the T1FK is really a good car. What i would advice you for spare parts is a few bearings ( just for replacement, especially the small ones fitted for the top-axle [the one with the spur] and 2 or 4 wheel /diff one's ) One of the best option parts i have bought were the alu C-hubs. Because these have no flex at all !! With these you will get more precise steering. At the race last weekend i had my first damage after 1,5 years driving the XRAY ( started with a T1R ) it was the steering block from which the arm broke with a low speed but nasty crash on a wood barrier. I have to replace my rear belt now. It only lasted a year of intensive racing. Things i replace most are the shock-body-seals ![]() |

x2 EVO2s. x2 years racing spec. Broke: 1 upper bumper brace. (Head-on w/wall) doesn't count. 1 bearing went rough. (Wheel axle) Stripped drive belt and drive pulley (low ratio) again BAAAD hit w/ boarder. Chewed up chassis. Lots-O-bad hits in first year, (not a very good racer but now on a steak)(x3 1st and 1 second place in the last four weeks) after 5 years of not racing at all and 1st time with a touring car. 1 Fine car!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have all kinds of spares but U are the only one who knows wut U'll need. No car likes to be hit. But it's pretty tough, even the way I drive. P.S.: HPI rs4 use the same size axle/diff bearings. |
