Post subject: | Weight question if Brushless system is used |
I've newly installed the Novak Brushless system to my beloved T2. However there is a huge weight difference on both sides of the car. I used the Hudy tool to balance out and found out that I've to put extra 110g in order to get it balanced. Does it sound normal? Is there any other alternative apart from adding extra weights? Thanks! |

First of all try to move in all parts on the heavy side as close as you can towards the centerline of the chassis, without rubbing the belt of course. Second, you should move any component you can to the lighter side, the transponder, ect . By doing this you will save a ton of weight when using it to balance the car. Third, when adding weights to the lighter side, put them as far as possible from the centerline of the car. this way you will require less weight to do the job. Gilberto Santos <edited> |

I just installed a brushless system in my T2. Here is a picture of what I did to balance the car. The key is as Gilberto said, is to put any weight that you add as far out as possible. By putting my transponder out on the battery side of the car I was able to balance the car with about 20gm of weight. Eric |

I have a LRP Sphere + Reedy Neo One brushless system, and I needed to add 80g of weight to balance it, mostly at the rear |

Yes having to add 100 grams or so sounds normal for a brushless system. If you have a 4.5 it will be a little easier to balance. I only added 30 grams of weight to the batt side and it handles fine. |

Thanks for all of your input. Why having a 4.5R Novak would be easier to balance? In fact I do have one that seems to give me the problem. |

A 4.5 would be easier to balance than a 5.5 as the 4.5 is lighter.how much does your car weigh with the extra weight added? |
