Mario i think what he is asking is what tools do we use to determine weight balance of the cars. Meaning how do we determine where to place weight on the car to balance it from left to right and front to back. If this is the question you are asking ill do my best to help answer it. I personally choose to use 4 digital scales. First thing i do is make sure both front shocks and rear shocks are the same length. Then make sure the spring collars on the front shocks are even ( down the same distance ) and the rears are even. After that, place the shocks on the car, put motorand battery in the car just as if you were going to race and place each wheel on thier own scale. It will show you the weight difference on each tire. Since we know the shocks are the same length, and the springs have the same preload, the difference you see on the scale is weight distribution. Place weight accordingly to the corners of the car that need it. Also keep in mind the chassis needs to be tweak free, and that placing weight on the left front will change the weight on the other 3 tires, in different ways. After a while you will get a feel for were to place the weight. for the scales, look different places, you can find some cheap ones out there ( i got mine from walmart for 15 bucks each, its a cooking scale to mesure ingrediants ). I also have the Hudy setup system, which is fantastic. Its a bit more difficult, in my opinion to get weight balance with it than the scales, but considering it has EVERYthing you need to set the car up, its a one stop shop to set the car up. Also for the T2 there is a balancing tool that can be purchased ( part ) that will tell you if the car is balanced left to right, but not front to back. Hope this helps. |

I only worry about left/right weight as front/rear cannot easily be changed and is pretty good. Get 2 golf tees, and place them in the holes near the front bumper and at the rear of the chassis. The car will lean towards the heavy side. Try different weights in different places until the balance is OK. Cheap and easy! |
