First time back to club racing for over a year and the thumbs were a little rusty.
Made a few poor decisions on initial set up after following an old article from several years ago about setting up a car for carpet racing. (would have worked perfectly on a fast flowing track)
Initialy the car was very oversteery, power on oversteer and corner entry oversteer. It didnt carry any speed at all in the corners, didnt like to roll round the corner either trying to swap ends with little warning.
Changed tyres with little improvement. The car was very unbalanced. Initialy I changed the front roll bar setting to full stiff and it helped a little.
Next change was to raise the rear roll centre which again helped control the back end a bit.
After three rounds drastic changes. removed the front one way and fitted a diff. The front blade anti roll bar was also removed. I also raised the front ride height as I felt it was too low. (about 4mm)
I had managed to drag the car to 8 on the A main grid. With the changes to the car un-tested I was lucky and pulled off a 4th place finnish. The top three were well ahead.
Hopefully next week will be better from the start with new tyres with the right inserts fitted to the car. I will start by putting the car back on the HUDY set up station and going over everything again to get it spot on. God only knows where my camber angles ended up with all the twidling I was doing.
The car is still a pig to drive.

as it was much easier to machine then previous chassis? Perhaps it is different due to a different lay up for the thicker plate. Anyway the conversion is easy if you have a dremmel and a steady hand.
