I'll try to explain this better though.

During the winter months my clubs asphalt track is relatively low grip as you would expect, but during the summer months it sometimes gets really hot and the grip is increased quite significantly. So thought that adding the rear posts to make the whole car more rigid would help during the summer months.

What do you think.

The problem is that it will make the tyres heat up more. So it should work very well as long as the tyres don't overheat. Ones the tyres overheat though the car will loose traction in corners more abruptly.

Given your desciption I think it would definitely be worth a try though.
