Hi, I installed a oneway in my FK04, the problem is, the outdrives slide in and out, not so far to come out of the diff, but they chewed up the plastic dogbone savers pretty quick, is there any mod I can do to prevent this?The one way I believe is from a fk05, but is the same width as the original ball diff. Thanks.

There should have been two shims (the largest one shown here on the ) that came with the one-way. They should be placed onto the outdrives before inserting them into the one-way bearings.

BTW, the one-way from an FK05 won't work on an FK04 as the bearings are flip flopped in opposite directions between the two. If you indeed have an FK05 one-way, then the front wheels are not getting any power when you accelerate and they are locking up when you brake, which could definitely chew up the blades.

Ok, so its not a FK05 one way then, cuz I used it and loved it on carpet, it was just the issue of the outdrive moving around, I got this from a friend, NEW but not in the package, there are 2 plastic shims, one on each side, should there be more?? Or can I add some?

Does Xray ever plan to include the "necessary" "O"rings in the multidiff packages?

We shouldnt really have to order "O" rings in order to use our $50.00 diffs.
It would be like buying a radio to find out it doesnt come with an antenna once it arrives.

One quick question Clayton. How many racers do you know that don't have a single solitary o-ring in their kits. oh and not to sound like a jerk though i proably do, the "o-ring" is not always needed in ever case. we have several running now without fault, the fk 04 one ways have no fault either. you will wear out the blades all most unavoidably, and durring full lock steering during a wreck can break them easier. The o ring is just a sugestion on a per case basis. and should not always be needed. and besides it just not racing if nothing ever breaks. feel free to add to this or comment as i am sure some one will.

The point is we are buying a product that doesnt work correctly out of the box.
When I am on the track and my diff stops working to find out that night I spent $50.00 and had to supply something as simple as an Oring I was pretty miffed that not only wasnt it supplied in the package, it wasnt even written on the package the diff doesnt work without the non supplied Oring.

If it wasnt necessary then why are people needing them?

What do you mean it isnt racing if nothing every breaks? it isnt breaking, it is falling apart because IT DOESNT HAVE THE NEEDED O RING TO KEEP IT IN PLACE :shock:

What if this was my first car?? I wouldnt have orings, infact I didnt have any, the car didnt handle without a one way on our track and I missed a week racing because I had to order freaking "O"rings and pay shipping on them.

When I spend $50.00 I want the part to work, plain and simple.
