Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical was inspired by a model called Hamilton "Hacked" in the mid-20th century. This rather special name comes from the ability of these watches to stop the second hand when it pulls the crown - a function that allows the army to synchronize their watches, even though it has now become almost mandatory for most modern timepieces. However, the inspiration is not here, but in design. Khaki Field Mechanical is all about World War II, the military watches released on site, and proudly displayed the case, proportion, and of course its dial. The watch itself is a very cool regulator setting, swapping the revolving film scroll in a separate register. But knowing the history behind it - Hamilton in the film for more than 80 years, and presented it to the participants at the 10th Hamilton Back Camera Awards - makes it feel like an award itself. Living in Los Angeles and surrounded by the film industry, wearing Jazzmaster Regulator Cinema reminds me of Hollywood's extraordinary entertainment and cultural contributions. There is no denying the background of Hamilton in military watches. In fact, the brand has built a series of impressive watches inspired by the past, when it was still an American and provided watches for the army.
