So i've wanted an RX-8 since i was a kid and i usually browse our local car ad site and they usually go for around 4000-5000€, but i saw one for around 2000€ (would most likely be able to drop that down quite a bit more). It's a "broken" RX-8 Challenge from 2006 (141kw) with around 156k km, haven't seen it yet since it's quite a ways away, but i talked to the seller a bit and got some info. The car has the check engine light on, it does start but produces white/slightly blue smoke for a few minutes and then it clears up. The guy says that from what he knows (idk if he got the info from google or a mechanic) but some said the rubber seals will need replacing, so that probably means the O rings, which is quite expensive afaik. What else could it be that could be checked there with no special equipment and would anyone recommend even buying it? Apart from that the car looks nice from the pictures, he claims no other issues nor rust but that's to still be seen. |
