Have you seen this thread: - http://www.teamxray.com/xforum/viewtopic.php?t=2293 One way on foams set up discussed in great detail.... In relation to your question regarding rubber tyres / one way / carpet set up, I've tried this on my fk04 using a Martin Hudy set up. The car was very very twitchy with way too much steering on corner entrance. I turned the dual rate down on transmitter to help but I found I needed more steering on corner exit. Changed to ball diff and went faster... Here's the set up (look for EFRA GP Prague):- http://www.teamxray.com/teamxray/produc ... 9f8363eb0f |

Yeah, teamgp is the expert on running foams here and has done a lot of testing with a one-way as well. Having said that, all the main Team XRay results with foam tyres were achieved with a normal diff in the front. The latest feat being Jilles TQ at the IIC in Las Vegas. I ran foam there myself and for me even with the diff in the front it was too aggressive. With hindsight I should've opted for harder front tyres to get the balance right. So to answer your question, other than teamgp's suggestions on one-way setups I would still recommend running a normal diff in the front with foam tyres. |
