Good Afternoon I have been browsing the internet for a rc car self build for the past few days I as an engineer I do have mechanical skills and 240/24v skills also, but lack the knowledge to order the correct brushless motor and gears plus any fixings to hold in place , ESC ,LIPO battery/charger included, Wheels, Servo, Transmitter and receiver. Could you possibly recommend a basic set up for the Xray T4 to get me started at a reasonable price, I am a novice at this time but shall be looking to upgrade to higher motors and other controls when I join a club Kind regards Pete |

My recommendation would be to visit a local track and see what those in your neck of the woods are running. That way you have the best product support for what ever you buy. You cannot beat the local knowledge of drivers that live around you. Track size, motor and class of racing is all gearing dependent. Until you decide on a class you cannot decide gearing. Also, every track has a tyre that works best there or there might even be a control tyre too. And going to a local track you will almost always find someone selling a used car that's probably setup for the track you will be racing on. You can also search the setup sheets here on Xray's website and you might find a setup for the track you are going to visit. I just googled "Xray T4 basic setup" and you will see lots of sheets there too. Hope that helps. |
